Due to Covid-19 Science Crazy is taking a break from clubs and Parties but will be back soon with new fun experiments to try!
After each Saturday club a fun fact sheet is emailed to you with fun facts and sometimes even a science experiment to try!
Saturday club is about children who love science or want to learn more about science to come together with other children who share their interest, to learn in a non-competitive environment that's fun as well as educational. Children will have a chance to work as a team, sometimes individually and sometimes there are demonstrations and discussions where children can ask questions and discuss with each other their findings.
In the first session, to give you an idea of what happens at Science Crazy, we investigated slime. We looked into why slime behaves the way it does and its chemical structure. All the children participated in hands on experiments, time was taken for the children to hypothesise, discuss and asked questions as we were learning. We also discussed how polymers are used, how they can be useful and how slime was invented.
At Saturday Science Crazy Club we have covered batteries and electricity, teaching children how electricity and batteries work through a series of experiments and visual demonstrations set up in an order that explains how it all works. We have also covered among other things: potential energy, Bernoulli's principle, the human body - where we learnt about the digestive system and about blood without all the gore and in some cases making models that children will be able to take home with them at the end of the workshop - as well as chemistry, which is always a favourite but we promise that no two Science Clubs will every be the same!
There is always a Science Crazy Fun Fact sheet emailed to each Club member's parent or guardian after each workshop attended - this is usually within 24 hours after the Saturday Club. Also children who attend all the sessions on one topic get a Science Crazy Certificate!
If you are looking to set up a regular club at your school or you are another organisation interested booking Science Crazy club workshops please email: ScienceCrazy - as well as clubs, Science Crazy run Science shows and one off science workshops.
